Amaury Abreu Builders Fund

Builder first. Party independent.

Federal policy should work for the people who build what comes next.

The Amaury Abreu Builders Fund supports federal candidates who champion founders, small business owners, investors, operators, creators, and community builders.

Our Mission

Builders create opportunity. Policy should remove obstacles.

New businesses, growing companies, neighborhood institutions, and the people who finance them create jobs, strengthen communities, and turn ideas into durable economic value. Federal policy should make that work easier, not harder, by expanding access to capital, simplifying the path to growth, and ensuring public investment reaches more places and more people.

The Fund exists to elevate that agenda and support federal leaders with the judgment and commitment to move it forward.

Party Independence

Same priorities. Every candidate.

We are not affiliated with any political party. We evaluate federal candidates from any party, or no party, against the same public, builder focused priorities.

Our support is based on what candidates propose, what they have delivered, and whether they can turn practical ideas into results. Party label is not a qualifying criterion.

Builder first. Party independent. Accountable to the same public priorities.

Our Priorities

A practical federal agenda for builders.

These are the outcomes the Fund wants federal leaders to pursue and the policy choices that demonstrate serious commitment.

Capital that reaches more builders

Too many viable businesses are held back not by a lack of ideas or demand, but by financing that is too limited, too costly, or too difficult to navigate.

  • Strengthen federal credit guarantees and responsible small dollar lending programs.
  • Expand the capacity of community and mission driven lenders to reach underserved markets.
  • Promote fair access to capital and greater transparency in small business lending.
  • Reduce financing barriers for immigrant, Latino, first time, and historically underserved entrepreneurs.

Innovation rooted in place

Breakthroughs should create opportunity beyond a handful of coastal hubs. Federal investment can help older industrial cities and overlooked regions turn research, talent, and local knowledge into companies and jobs.

  • Direct more research, commercialization, and manufacturing support to a wider range of regions.
  • Connect innovation funding to local workers, suppliers, and neighborhood businesses.
  • Strengthen the bridge between research institutions, entrepreneurs, and early customers.
  • Measure success through durable local jobs, company formation, and shared economic value.

Community infrastructure that counts

Commercial corridors, cultural institutions, community developers, and neighborhood serving businesses are economic infrastructure. Federal policy should treat them that way.

  • Expand flexible capital for corridor businesses and community serving projects.
  • Recognize culture, creativity, food, and local media as part of economic development strategy.
  • Connect place based investment to the people and organizations already doing the work.
  • Give communities a meaningful voice in how federal programs are designed and delivered.

A simpler path to start and grow

Complexity has a cost, and the smallest firms often pay the most. Government should preserve accountability while making federal programs easier to understand and use.

  • Streamline duplicative federal applications, reporting, and documentation.
  • Create clearer tax treatment and guidance for very small firms and first time owners.
  • Modernize procurement so smaller businesses can compete for federal opportunities.
  • Design programs around the operating realities of entrepreneurs, not only institutional capacity.

How We Evaluate

One transparent standard for every candidate.

The Fund looks for federal leaders who combine a strong builder agenda with the ability to deliver. Every candidate is considered against the same four questions.

Access

Will this candidate help more qualified founders and small businesses reach responsible capital and opportunity?

Execution

Does this candidate offer workable proposals, credible implementation, and a record of moving from rhetoric to results?

Local impact

Will this candidate help federal investment reach overlooked communities and strengthen durable local economies?

Accountability

Will this candidate support clear rules, transparent outcomes, and responsible stewardship of public resources?

We do not ask whether a policy is red or blue. We ask whether it helps builders start, grow, hire, and invest, and whether a candidate can deliver it.

What support means

When the Fund supports a candidate, it does so independently and because that candidate advances this agenda. The Fund does not coordinate with any candidate, campaign, or political party.

Join the Conversation

Better policy starts with people who do the work.

The Fund wants to hear from the people who experience the barriers, deploy the capital, build the programs, and create the jobs. Practical insight should shape the agenda before it becomes a talking point.
